Postcards from the rim
Every image below is rendered by the game engine itself when this page loads — four fixed camera views of the same seeded world, caught at four different hours.
What is in it
- Seeded cube terrain. Hills, basins, shallows and treelines come out of numeric noise, so a seed is a place you can revisit.
- Nine block materials. Grass, dirt, stone, sand, trunk, leaves, water, slate and glowing amber — every texture painted pixel by pixel in code.
- Break and build. Mine the block under your crosshair, stack the next one onto the face you hit, and never seal yourself inside it.
- A ten-minute day. The sun crosses the sky, the fog shifts colour, stars rise, and clouds drift over the ridge all day long.
- Debris that behaves. A broken block throws chips of its own colour that fall onto the ground and fade.
- Your world stays put. Every block you change and where you were standing are saved in the browser and restored on the next visit.
- Mouse, keyboard or thumbs. Pointer lock, arrow-key looking, and a touch joystick with break and place buttons.
